Show HELP THE FARMERS OF THE COUNTRY. When the wheat crop of Alberta, Canada, failed In 1914, the government govern-ment rushed seed wheat to the farmers farm-ers and advanced funds by which the tillers of the soil, instead of struggling strug-gling to exist and slowly recovering from threatened disaster, were able to enjoy a condition of prosperity the following season. This same paternalism might be employed to advantage by the United States, during the present effort to increase the cultivated area. Farmers, worthy of assistance, but without equipment and seed, should be invited to call on the government for assistance. |
