Show GOVERNOR SHOULD HAVE UNSTINTED SUPPORT. On Wednesday Governor Simon Bamberger issued a proclamation, urging the city and county governments govern-ments of the state to call masB meetings meet-ings for the purpose of organizing our resources for war purposes. The mass meetings are to select delegates del-egates to attend a meeting at the state capitol on April 21, called by the county chairmen of tho Utah Agricultural Ag-ricultural college, acting in co-operation with the United States department depart-ment of agriculture to stimulate interest in-terest in increasing the productive acreage of tho state; to assist the governor and the military authorities in recruiting to full war strength tho various arms of the military and naval forces of the nation, and to perfect organizations to assist the constituted authorities in all emergencies that may arise during the period of tho war. Governor Bamberger pays Ogdon the high compliment of adopting the plans worked out in this city by the committee on preparation and safety, in fact his proclamation was Inspired by a delegation from the committee, made up of C. C. Richards, Judge J. A. Howell, Dr. E. M. Conroy, Col. R. E. Boyd and Senator Jos. Chez, which called on him last Saturday. Ogden and Weber county have held a mass meeting and those who represent repre-sent that meeting should name delegates dele-gates to the conference in Salt Lake and do everything possible to stimulate stimu-late state interest in the governor's big undertaking. oo |
