Show SCHOOL BONDS TO BE FREE FROM OTHER ISSUES Inquiry in every direction today elicited the apparently unanimous opinion that the $200,000 school bonds, to make the buildings safe for the children chil-dren and adequate for their needs for the next few years, should be the only issue submitted at tho special election of April 26. President James H. Riley, Or. Edward Ed-ward I Rich and the other members of the school board have authorized a formal but urgent invitation to a large number of citizens, and to everyone interested, to visit tho various schools and see for themselves tho dangerous condition of the buildings and the imperative im-perative necessity of voting the school bonds. Dr. Rich also proposes to economize, after the bonas arc voted, by building a fire-proof administration building on an Ideal site at the Central junior high school, to cost about $6000. The school system requires an offico building, he said, with facilities for safely storing books, records and supplies. The board Is now paying $70 a month rent In the Hudson building and additional room, now required, will increase the rent to $90. With their own administration building, embodying every convenience, conveni-ence, said Dr. Rich, tho people would save the cost of tho building in a few years and it would add greatly to efficiency ef-ficiency and safety. ' Dr. Rich also desires to have a school laundry installed, to provide every school with sanitary towels. The cost'would be small, he said, and tho benefits great. "The safety of our children," said Dr. Rich, "is above every other consideration. con-sideration. The vote In favor of tho bonds ought to bo unanimous, and no other issue except the school bonds should be submitted to the people at the election of April 26." |
