Show 00 GARBAGE COLLEGIl; SYSTEM FOR OGDEN M A move Is on foot looking to the installation in-stallation of a systematic garbage collection col-lection for Ogden city. James H. Wal-11s, Wal-11s, clean-town judge for the state board of health, came up from Salt Lake City this morning and met with the city commission in relation to the matter. He told the commission that a city the size of Ogden should have a municipal garbago collection, whorc-as whorc-as at the present tlmo the health department de-partment has no jurisdiction even over the scavenger work done in tho city., Mr. Wallis was asked by the mayor to submit a tentative outline of a system sys-tem suitable for Ogden, with probable cost, which ho agreed to do, in connection con-nection with City Sanitary Inspector George Shorten. This afternooq, in company with Inspector In-spector Shorten, Mr. Wallis is at Riv-erdale Riv-erdale inspecting) the proposed water supply for tho district school there. Mr. Wallis will be in Ogden for several sev-eral days and while here will assist the city health department in the organization or-ganization of local activities for this year's clean-town contest, which Ogden lost by but a couplo of points. With an effective garbago system established, there is no reason why Ogden cannot again take tho lead of all oilier cities in the annual score. |
