Show 1 LOGAN SOCIETY One of the charming affairs of the "week was the dinner dance given Tuesday evening at the Hotel Logan by Miss Margaret Njbley and Miss Emma Eccles. The guests were seated seat-ed at ono long table, beautifully decorated dec-orated in Easter lilies, daffodills and ferns. All the details of the dinner were carried out in the Easter ideas. Squires entertained Thursday at an Easter birthday party for 'her daughter, HarrietL Various games were played during the afternoon after-noon and prizes were given to Miss Margaret Thomas and Miss Edith Smith. Luncheon was served, the table ta-ble decorations and favors being all of Easter suggestion. Sixteen small guests were seated at the table. I Mrs. Ray B. West was hostess Thursday afternoon for the Auction Bridge club. Two tables were played and luncheon served. Mrs. Guy Cardon Car-don assisted the hostess. i The Delta Phi club met Saturday afternoon af-ternoon at the home of Miss Rachel Bailiff. Spring flowers decorated the ' living rooms and also the small ta- 1 bles, where luncheon was served. The U. A. C. Woman's club met Monday at the home of Mrs. Guy Thatcher. After a short business meeting Miss Margaret Wilkinson read two clever one-act dramas. The hostess hos-tess served tea. The guests of the club were Mrs. Luther Howell and Miss Dora Wright. The Clio club were entertained Wednesday Wed-nesday afternoon at Murdock's, with Mrs. C. R. Johnson as hostess. Mrs. Roy D. Thatcher read the drama, "The City," by Clyde Fitch, which was reviewed re-viewed by Miss Dora Reynolds. Vocal selections were given by Miss Mable Morley of Provo and Prof. C. R. Johnson. John-son. Miss Morley and Mrs. J. M. George were guests. The sororities of the U. A C, composed com-posed of the Sorosis, the Sigma Theta Phi and the Beta Delta, will receive during the hours from 3 until 6 o'clock on Saturday afternoon at their homes. The colors of the sorority will be used both in the house decorntlons and details of the refreshments at each sorority house. The following house members of the Sorosis spent the week visiting in Salt Lake: The Misses Irma Allon, Evelyn Cook, Edith Wallace, Viola Allen, Elolso Jones and O'detta. Salzncr. On Sunday afternoon, from 3 until 6 o'clock the five fraternities of the U. A. C. will hold "open house" to all members of the faculty, students and their guests at thpir respective fraternity fra-ternity houses, which includes the following, fol-lowing, Sigma Alpha. 139 East Center street; Pi Zeta PI. College Hill; Phi Kappa Iota, 169 East Center street; Delta Nu, 259 North Main; and the Alpha Delta Epsilon, North First East stroet. One of the social events of the school year will be the annual Junior Prom, which will be given on Monday Mon-day evening at the U. A. C, in the Smart gymnasium. The committees in charge of the affair are composed of tho following: Hebor Morrell, La Von Bennion, Moses Cowley, Eloise Jones, Sumner Hatch and Billie Ho-bush. Ho-bush. The regular monthly dinner of the Young Men's club was given Friday evening at the Hotel Logan. The Sigma Alpha entertained at an informal affair Tuesday evening at their house on Center strecL Dr. and Mrs. George R. Hill spent tho week in Salt Lake, Ogden and Sprlngville. Mrs. Elmer I. Stoddard and small son of La Grande, Ore., arrived in Logan Lo-gan Wednesday and will spend a month at the homo of hor parents, Mr. and Mrs. John A. McAllster. Mr. Charles Millin of Salt Lake was in Logan during the week on business. Mrs. Reed Shamhart and daughters, Katherine and Helen, are expected homo next week from Long Beach, Cal., whore they have spent the past six months. At a special meeting of the Cache County Fair association, held March 28, the following officers were elected for the ensuing year: Mr. G. A. Hogan of Lewiston, president; Mr. George Dunbar, Logan, first vice president; Mr. r. M. Maughn, Wellsville, second vice president; Mr. J. E. Wilson, Logan, Lo-gan, treasurer, and Mr. M. R. Hovey, Logan, secretary. Mr. Oscar Lundstrom, son of Mr. and Mrs. A. G. Lundstrom, left Tuesday Tues-day for Los Angeles, to remain several sev-eral months on account of ill health. Mr. and Mrs. Stewart Horsley of Brigham City were visiting their many friends in Logan during the week. Mr. and Mrs. Horsley will leave soon for J .Easter musical numbers in the First Presbyterian church will include seven solos by Miss Florence Jepperson. Miss Jepperson is accepted as the best contralto singer Utah has yet produced. pro-duced. She has won as much if not more purely musical honors than any other Utah woman in American concert con-cert circles. To be selected soloist for the Boston Symphony orchestra, as well as for the Boston Handel-Haydn oratorio society and the Apollo male chorus means to be considered first in a great city, where are gathered gath-ered much of the best talent of the nation. This was the distinction Miss Jepperson won by merit during her ten years' residence in Boston. Of equal interest to Ogden music lovers is the quartet composed of Mrs. Alice Bowring Clark, Mrs. Charles H. Stevens, Ste-vens, Mr. W. H. Manning and Mr. Leslie H. Saville, who will form a quartet of real merit and furnish numbers num-bers for Sunday's services. Miss Louise Lou-ise Pierce will accompany the quartet quar-tet and Miss Lydia Edwards, who has just returned from study, will accompany accom-pany Miss Jepperson. The sermon themes will be "The Wonder of That Day," "The Resurrection Resurrec-tion Message of Peace," and "The Idle Tale of Easter Morn."
