Show I Brigham City Society (Special to The Standard) BRIGHAM PITY. April 7. Mr. and Mrs. H. L. Meffert returned from Kansas Kan-sas City, Mo., Sunday evening after an absence of ten days. They attended a reunion of the Meffert family while in the eastern city. Miss Isadore Shumway of Clarkston has been spending a few weeks in this city visiting her sister, Mrs. A. J. Fife. During the week Miss Shumway and Miss Luella Fife spent several days in Ogden visiting relatives and friends. Mrs. R. A. Hummell was the recipient reci-pient of a delightful parcol shower Monday evening in honor of her recent re-cent marriage. . Refreshments were served and a pleasant social evening was enjoyed by tho host of friends. Present were: Mrs. Reuben Jensen. Wednesday evening many friends of Miss Crystal Jeppson enjoyed a pleasant pleas-ant musicale at her home. Among the numbers rendered were solos by Miss Amber Hamson, Earl and John Wright, readings of Professor J. G. Crook and piano selections by Miss Jeppson. Wednesday Wed-nesday evening Mrs. Billings gave a supper at the Kaiser restaurant In her honor and tho following guests wero present: Mr. and Mrs. H. M. Nelson, Mr. and Mrs. W. L. At the home of Mr. and Mrs. Nols Jcnson Saturday evening the members of tho Box Elder high school basketball basket-ball team of the season just closed were royally entertained by a number of lady friends and teachois. Between fifty and sixty young married mar-ried couples enjoyed another of their popular dances at the Academy Thursday Thurs-day evening. The Ladies' Aid society of the Presbyterian Pres-byterian church held their monthly meeting at the home of Mrs. II. C. Day Friday afternoon. Considerable 1 business affairs were disposed of. later the time being devoted to social diversion. diver-sion. Plans for the annual church dinner were discussed at length. The regular meeting of tho Children's Chil-dren's Aid society was held at the home of the president, Mrs. James Cooper, last Friday afternoon. Following Fol-lowing the regular business session refreshments were served. SIMPSON-LEEK. Miss Hazel Simpson, ono of the most popular young ladies of this city, became the bride of Willis Leek of 2627 Jefferson avenue on Wednesday morning, Bishop 0. M. Sanderson performing per-forming the ceremony. Miss Margaret White acted as bridesmaid and J. Mooro Kiugsford attended the groom. Mr. and Mrs. Leek will make their home in this city. REEDER-VISSER. Last Monday afternoon in Salt Lako City, Miss Leona Marguerite Reeder, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. L. J. Reeder, and John' Visser, son of Mr and Mrs. C. Visser, and brother of tho local wrestler, wore wedded, Salt Lake county clerk, John Halvorsen, performing per-forming tho ceremony. Mr. and Mrs. Visser will spend their honeymoon in California and will make their home in Ogden. RETURNS HOME. Mrs. J. B. Ludwig has returned from an extended visit in California with her daughter, Mrs. H. W. Chevors. FROM ELKO Mrs. John J. Wlemer of Elko is on-Joying on-Joying a month's visit with Mr. and Mrs. L. A. Dever, 2168 Adams avenue. ave-nue. Mrs. Wiemer resided until lately at Brawley, in the famous Imperial valley of California, where a temperature tempera-ture of 116 degrees, day and night, is considered normal and comfortable. Brawley is 120 feet or more below sea level. Tho visitor says Ogden's climate cli-mate is "heavenly." ' MRS. LONG HOSTESS Mr.". William B. Long entertained the members of the Sequoia club at her home Saturday afternoon. A unique guessing contest which kept the ladies laughing was won by Mrs. Craycroft. The social hour was spent in crocheting. Light refreshments were served and the ladies voted Mrs. Long a charming hostess. The club will meet with Mrs. Hillstcadt April 11 at 2S58 Washington avenue.
