Show UK EH1ERED 10 CLOTHES RIFLED One of the most baffling robberios perpetrated in Ogden in months was brought to the attention of the police department this morning by Mrs. W. E. Quillinan of 22G4 Lincoln avenue. The victims were the lady of the house and two of her relatives, James Dobbic and E. C. Hansen, visitors from Plncher Creek, Alberta, Canada. Mrs. Quillinan lost $4 25 in cash; Dob-bie, Dob-bie, ?33 in cash, and an Elgin gold watch open lace, valued at $30, and Hansen, $93 In cash and a watch charm formed of a $2 50 and a $5 gold piece. Mrs. Quillinan discovered the robbery rob-bery about 8 a. m. and informed the police. Shortly afterward, Mrs. Roy Wiggins, a neighbor of the Qulllinans, reported the finding of two purses, containing railroad tickets and other papers, on her front lawn. Sergeant T. II. Blackburn, Jr., and Detective Robert Chambers then proceeded to investigate the ense. In the meantime, Mrs. Qullllnan's Canada relatives, who stopped over in Ogden while en route home from 'Kansas City, arose from their beds and discovered that their clothing had disappeared from the room during the night. A search was Inaugurated and the clothing was found In a hallway, rifled of all the valuables left therein when the two young men retired to rest yesterday evening. The purses were obtained from Mrs. Wiggins and the articles left in them by the thieves included two railroad tickets from Ogden to Great Falls, Mont, and a baggage chock reading from Kansas City to Ogden. No clues as to the manner in which the robbers rob-bers entered the house or left It, were found. |
