Van Oradell, who, accompanied by hor husband, arrived in Ogden this morn-big morn-big part in bringing the Women of ing from Portland, Ore., to pass the day and evening. Mrs. Van Orsdell io head guard of tho order Women of Woodcraft, and hor visit horo in considered con-sidered ono of tho most important I events of tho year with the local I lodges. ! Sbo is a woman of national promi-nenco promi-nenco in the circlo of women's fraternal fra-ternal organizations and has taken a Woodcraft order to its present large membership and standard of Importance Import-ance among the lodges of tho country. She makes her headquarters at Portland. Port-land. Mr. and Mrs. Van Orsdell were met at the union depot by a committee of local Women of Woodcraft and escorted es-corted to the Reed hotel, where a suite of rooms had been prepared for them At noon, Mrs. Van Orsdell was entertained by Mayor-elect Heywood at a finely appointed luncheon in the ladles' dining room at the Weber club. Following tho luncheon, sho was taken for an automobile ride through Ogden canyon, as a guest of Judge and Mrs. J. A. Howell. At 6 o'clook; this evening, an elaborate elab-orate banquet is to bo given in honor of the distinguished visitor, in the Woodmen of the World hall, by the two Ogden circles, Women of Woodcraft. Wood-craft. When this event is concluded, a joint business meeting will bo held, at which Mrs. Van Orsdell will be the principal speaker. |
