Show THEATERS AT THE ORPHEUM. No one need fear that his money will be misspent by going to the Orphoum theatre this week, for the vaudeville bill which opened there yesterday is a winner from the orchestral or-chestral prelude- to the exit march. It is a genuine "vaudoville" bill, with not a weak spot in it and it goes with a snap that kept the threo large audiences au-diences alive v,ith interest almost every ev-ery minute. It opens with a picture, showing how moving pictures are made, giving an interesting insight into this great modern Industry. The four Ladella Comiques, as clever clev-er and funny a quartette of tumblers as ever drove away a case of "blues," followed and their act received an ovation of laughter and applause. A really pleasing duo of "straight' song and dance artists are N D. Nestor Nes-tor and Bess JDelberg, who preseut an entertaining dialogue entitled "In Love. ' Both have fine voices, gofd enunciation and give a fine exhibition exhibi-tion of modern fancy dancing. Ttey received a number of encore cllls and the audience seemed loath to let them leave the sage. John R. Gordon, Elliot J. Siiums.'Le-Ieith Siiums.'Le-Ieith Bolmont and Gertrude Gratam, present Mr. Gordon's one-act fjree, "What Would You Do?" All four are fine vaudeville types of actors and their offering is entertainment of the most satisfying nature. The American Comedy Four, com bining a "sissy," a blackface, a straight and a burlesque tragedian, would have stayed on the stage much longer than they did had they answered an-swered all the encores given them. As it was, they were generous and finished out the fun of the evening in a most healthful manner. In addition ad-dition to being good comedians, the four have fine voices and they sang I several solo and quartette numbers in most pleasing harmony. The Adas family of seven aerial artists headline the bill and. though the other acts give splendid entertainment, enter-tainment, this family Is entitled to the position given them. All perform per-form entirely in the air and have a number of original mechanical devices devi-ces that they use in giving a truly '? remarkable exhibition of strength, daring and gymnastic skill. |
