A board of public ' morals, under the new scheme, would I be formed to enforce the laws against ' gambling and vice. Those interested j in the movement are of the opinion that John D ( Rockefeller, Jr . and other prominent persons who have j been acthc in contributing their wealth or their personal efforts to the suppression of gambling, of tho whito slave traffic and of other forms ol ! vice, should accept membership upon such a board. "With an adequate force, which would not need to be large, the supervision su-pervision of gambling and vice, their suppression and especially the demand de-mand for co-operation of the courts would thus be incomputent hands, and the avoidance of graft would be easier. |
