Show STEPHEN H. LOVE AT BRIGHAM GITY Brlgham City, Oct. 29. Stephen H. Love, Progressive candidnto for representative rep-resentative to congress, spoke to an nudienco of nearly 500 persons in this city Inst night. Tho rally was marked with considerable consid-erable enthusiasm throughout. Love explained in detail his trip to Wash-ingtpon Wash-ingtpon with Mr Babcock in f910, but did not accuse the Utah delegation in congress of working against tho interests of their cause, but denounced denounc-ed tho manner in which the matter was handled by Senator Aldrlch. Love also took up the matter in which the funds of the state aro handled han-dled by the present administration, and said that the state was now puy-lng puy-lng 1 per cent Interest on its own money, offering in explanation that the state treasurer had sold road and university building bonds to banks In which the state was a heavy depositor, de-positor, of funds upon which no interest inter-est was paid. He said these bonds amounted to $560,000, while the state at present has over $2,000,000 deposited In fifteen banks of the state $500,000 of which Is deposited in a bank in which Governor Gov-ernor Sprv Is a stockholder and director. |
