This morning thc fellow was In rather a jovial mood and used more English than usual, but ho stoutly refused re-fused to be Interviewed regarding his attempt to use a knife on an officer, and grew sullen when questioned at any great length. Ke claims that ho does not understand English, but in making the denial used tho language fluontly. oo
