Fell and Commissioner T S Browning Mr Nichols, chief of the examination examina-tion board, gave a very Interesting talk on the vailous methods used in operating railroads Tho most critical time In the operation of trains Is whon a now tlmo table Is Introduced, necessitating a considerable change in the train schedules. A number of stereopticon views of scenes along the Southern Pacific were shown, as well as a number of pictures illustrating the working of the block signals at various points on tho road Mr. Nichols spoke of the excellent results that had boen obtained from the use of the examination car in educating edu-cating the laiftoad men and expressed himself as confident that many accidents acci-dents on the Harrlmnn roads had been averted by tho omnloyes having a moro thorough knowledge of railroad operation than many other roads. In closing hi3 remarks Mr. Nichols said that tho car would be in Ogden until January 20, and hoped that during that time more of the citizens of Ogden Og-den would avail themselvos of tho opportunity op-portunity to visit the car. |
