Show EVERETT IAKES A STATEMENT Claiming that the article regarding his boys Was somewhat misleading and not altogether in accordance With tho facts, William Everett, residing at 2157 Wall avenue, has sent In the following communication In reply lo the story appearing in Monday morning's morn-ing's Examiner: "To the Editor of tho Morning Examiner: Ex-aminer: "I wish to make a refutation of an article entitled, "Officers Find Secret Chambor," which appeared In yoirr paper of January 15. As It Is an unmitigated un-mitigated falsehood in most respects. It was no secret chamber as It has been known for months by nearly everyone. "No cards were found there as stated, stat-ed, neither was thore any chairs and Diamond Dick literature. Tho article ar-ticle states there was a tortuous channel leading to the cave or dugout dug-out and a person would need to bo a contortionist to gain entrance. The article also states that tho boys ran away upon tho approach of the officers offi-cers whon, as a matter of fact, they remained and answered all questions put to them by tho officers. "Tho public might Infer that this was a bandits rendezvous but I wish to put it up In the right HghL Tho article states that my two sons have been absent from school In consequence conse-quence und I will say Jn denial that they have never been absent without my consent and only then on account of sickness.
