Show enAUTWQUl NEXT BIG EVENT These are the days when the members mem-bers of the Ogden Chautauqua committee com-mittee are the busiest mon in town, getting the last plans in shape for the big Chautauqua, which opens one week from next Friday, at Glenwood. Elaborate preparations are being made for the great' pageants which are to be among the most prominent events of the Chautauqua. Miss Rosalie Ro-salie E. Holberg, assisted by the St. Cecelia society and other young la-dlos, la-dlos, will give the Ceres scene in the historical pageant The department of the interior will send a special group of Indians to give the famouB Indian scenes, while Sam T. Whitta-ker Whitta-ker Is arranging for a fine rendering of the scones representing the arrival of the pioneers. Fifty boys from the state school will bear tho American flag into Utah. The Utah Construction company is planning to give the great scene of the arrival of the railroad in 1869. The beautiful symbolic scene representing the "Birth of Irrigation" will be given by 200 children, under the artistic direction di-rection of Miss Faye Keck. One of the greatest scenes will be given by the ward Sunday schools tinder tin-der the direction of Gus Wright, representing rep-resenting the admission of Otah to the Union, when the new song, "Utah, Fair Utah," will be sung. The pageant of all nations continues to grow In importance. The Scots still lead in elaborate preparations for it The forest service has arranged to give, during the Chautauqua, a delightful de-lightful popular course on trees by ono of their ablest Instructors. Letters from all the prominent lecturers lec-turers on the program show that they arc coming without exception. Great enthusiasm is shown throughout the country districts in regard to. the assembly. as-sembly. Speeches wer delivered in all the ward meeting houses in the county last Sunday, and it Is expected that on "Farmers' day" and "Pioneers' day" Ogden will be crowded with people peo-ple of tho county. Morgan county Is planning for a large attendance on "Farmers' day." The famous Morgan county band will be tho great musical feature of that day. The band, accompanied by speakers, will tour Morgan and, Summit Sum-mit counties next Wednesday boosting boost-ing for tho Chautauqua.
