The British decennial census of this year shows a population for this Island or -1.381.951, which is only 76.824 under the figuro of ten years ago. This 1b much the smallest loss that the Island has suffered In anv decade from the teventy years ago when famine swept away thousands of the people and a great emigration began, which still continues, but in steadily declining 0Iu1ne Compared with the loss of 7G.S25 in the past ten years.
