Show ASKING FOR $15,000 AS 1 DAMAGES c a-i - - - - z an: "The personal Injury case of "Frank "M, Denson. administrator of the1" estate es-tate of Lloyd Jacobs, deceased, against the Corey Brothers Construction company, com-pany, was taken up for trial bv Judge Howell this morning, the following jury being empaneled: D. M Voodr Richard D. Brown, J. A. Montgomery, John W. Rex, "W. W. Browning, P. D. Richardson, "W. L. Russell, Georgo Dinsdale. The complaint alleges that on March 25, 1910, IJoyd Jacobs, while in the employ of the defendant company, com-pany, was run over by an onglne and crushed to death. He was employed ,by thecomnauv- as e,nglneert the company com-pany at the time being engaged in .'building a dam at Mackay, Idaho The dirt for the tlam had to be conveyed quite a distance- on cars hauled by steam engines, and Mr Jacobs Ja-cobs was operatfng one of the engines. The complaint states that his engine was on old one and was constantly In need of repair. On March 25. while Mr Jacobs was under his engine making mak-ing repaiis, another engine, operated by another engineer of the company, tlroVe a number of cars against his engine and caused the wheels to move over his body,. The plaintiffs ask for $15:000 damages.. , The defendant cQmpany alleges that the killing of Mr. Jacobs was due to the carelessness or a fellow employe em-ploye and himself, ' ' Mrs. Harold Peery, of Ogden; Mrs. Cunningham, Mrs, Agatha BerkhotG Seigel, Mr. Fred Smith, Mr. M. J. Brines, Mr. Hugh Dougal, Mr. Lawrence Greenwell, of Ogden; all under the direction of Mr. Squire Coop of Ogden, are the principals in the cast of the big production of the opera, "Pinafore," at the Orpheum Theater The-ater on Thursday evening next. -- on i |
