Show . . uu ALL COMFORTS FOR GHAUTAUQUANS Thirty-five gallons of oil have been poured ou the waters ot Glonwood park by the Chautauqua committee this past week, not to abate storms but mosquitoes. This Is only ono ot many things being done by the committee com-mittee to make Glenwood an ideal spot this week when the great event of the summer begins next Friday. The airy auditorium will be equipped equip-ped with easy opera chairs for nearly a thousand people, while outside another an-other thousand can hear and enjoy the big lectures and concerts. Just east of the auditorium will be the Hall-ln-the-Grovc, the Chautauqua hoadquarters, where will be found the offices, telephones and check stands, and where Prof. Daniel W. Howell, tho general secretary of the Chautauqua Chautau-qua circles, will hold each morning bis bible hour' and each afteruoon at 5 hlB Chautauqua round table, where he will introduce the methods, courses and plans of the world-wide Chautauqua Chautau-qua work for 1911-1912. South of tbe auditorium will be the open air arbor, where clubs will meet and many round tables be held, while across the lagoon the committee is fitting up a delightful rest cottage for women and children. There tired mothers will find easy rockers and couches and every comfort, Here Miss Lamkin will hold her talks with mothers each twilight hour. Tho snucer traclL transformed into the amphitheater, te river bank, tho music stand and other places will be used for group work and clubs East of the auditorium and near the jagoon a fine .reasonably priced and up-to-date Chautauqua restaurant will be opened, so that no one need go homo to eat. but can stay and enjoy t,he whole day South of the automobile automo-bile park, arrangements are being made to care for the tired horses of the farmers, while the babies are not .to be forgotten, as the grounds committee com-mittee Is planning a nursery for little lit-tle folks under .the care of good nurses. It is hoped the mothers will freely use this for the sake of the babies, as well as to give them and the audiences a full uninterrupted chance to hear all the speakers. One of the novel plnns completed is that of the picked group of hoys from the Boys' clubs of Ogden, under the care of the Utah scout commissioner, commis-sioner, Fred D. Kelly, of Provo, will conduct a model oamp on the grounds, stervp as guards, .guides, escorts, messengers, mes-sengers, and besides, carry on an emergency hospital and give daily exhibitions ex-hibitions of their work especially that of first aid to the Injured. The motto on. the grounds, if in jtroublo or need of help or information, will be "Ask tho Boys." So many requests have come in from the boys asking for a swimming class that the chairman of the athletic athlet-ic commltteo, Dr. E. G Gowan, has been asked to take the matter up and arrango for a swimming class. The interest outside of Ogden is very gratifying. Yesterday the chairman chair-man of the publicity committee, Dr. S. W. Wherry, met with the leading citizens citi-zens of Brigham and they arranged for big excursions from tho Peacli City. In fact, they propose to bring a good share of all Box Elder county hero to celebrate on Pioneers' day and see the big pageant, while special trainB on the Union Pacific will he run from Morgan nnd that county is preparing to send big crowds. One of the plans of Importance to many people who want to enjoy the Chautauqua is the laying out of a tent boulevard on the avenue leading from the auditorium to rest cottage, as well as plans for a tent city in encampment park along the. river. The grounds committee, of which Ke'v. F. G. Brainerd is chairman, is prepared to make very fine arrangements for those who wish to bring their own tents or hire tents to be put up on the grounds. Among those who will come to the Chautauqua to tent are leading clergymen clergy-men of Salt Lake and the state president presi-dent of the Federated Woman's clubs of Idaho, but not only out;Of-town people will camp there, but many Ogden Og-den people are deciding to move up to the Chautauqua and stay through the whole session.
