Show OLDEST 0. S. L HHII DO Salt Lake, July 17. W. W. Chapman, Chap-man, sixty-four years of ago, of Mont-pelier', Mont-pelier', Idaho, reputed to be the oldest engineer on tho O S L., died at Judge Mercy hospital shortly before 10 o'cloc last night, following an operation opera-tion for bladder trouble. He was brought to the hospital in Salt Lake one week ago. When he was but twenty years of ago, Mr Chapman became an engineer engi-neer on the Union Pacific railway, running run-ning between points in Nebraska. In January. 1SS1, ho entered the employ of the O S. L. as an engineer and from that time until a few weeks before be-fore his death he had run a passenger locomotlvo on Division No. 1, between Montpeller and Green river Mr Chapman Is survived by a widow wi-dow and daughter, Mrs. H R. Groo, of Gunn, Wyo His wife, daughter and son-in-law were at his death bed Tho body was taken to th mortuary of tho O'Donncll Undertaking company where It will bo prepared for shlpmont to Montpelier for funeral serices and burial |
