Show M'CARTHY IS SENT TO PR0V0 Jack McCarthy spent a rather quiet day at the county jail yesterday, but became furious during the night and this morning was a raving maniac. A lunacy board, consisting of Judge Howell, Dr. Edward Rich and Dr. E. P Mills, was called nhd at 'the noon hour an examination was held and McCarthy was committed to the state mental hospital. Ho will be taken to tho hospital this afternoon "by Deputy Sheriff Gcorgo Leatham. While it Is thought that the heat of the past fow days and excessive work done by McCarthy had something some-thing to do with his derangement. It is said by his wife and relatives that his mental condition is due to an accident ac-cident that happened to him a few years ago while he was working on tho railroad. Ho was In a wreck and suffered a fractured skull, from which ho has never fully recovored. Mrs. McCarthy thinks that a surgical operation op-eration will relieve Mr. McCarthy of his troubles , |
