Show STATE FIREMEH PJOpMENT PROVO, July 1G. All arrangements and plans for tho Utah State Firemen's Fire-men's convention and tournament to bo held lu this city August 15 and 16 and the unirnament August 17, are now completed and ready for active work excopt as to a few minor details which win be cared for by the com mlttce In good time, and no delays will be experienced. The convention will ho held in tho Commercial club rooms and three sessions aro planned, one in the morning and one in the afternoon aft-ernoon of the first day and ono on the morning -of- the second day During the nftemoon of. the second day tho gueais- will be. taken in automobiles through the city and as far up tho canyon as Spr.'ngdell, returning to this city late in the afternoon, at which time launch rides on the lako will be the order of program and In the even-ing even-ing a banquet will bo given at. the Roberts hotel. On tho last day the tournament will be on of the great feats of the meeting, meet-ing, and it promises to draw people from all parts of the country. Special trains will vln all probability be run from both north and south. When, seen yestorday Mr. William Ward stated that the" feats to be performed will rival the circuses in daring, and tho thrills will be connected with It. "Some think,'r he Bald, "that these contests will consist of just simply running out a line of hose and turning turn-ing on the water and all that, but there are many different performances to be given, such as scaling lofty tow .Ers to be erected for the occasion, rescuing res-cuing persons from hlsh windows and all sorts of feats usually performed In times when the fires are hottest. The different departments throughout the state are drilling for these contests con-tests with an earnest effort to win tho prizes.
