Show NEWS FROM PARAGONAH By Ililma Lamoreaux Mr. and Mrs. Wilson Lund have had visitors all week. On Mon. Mr. and Mrs. R. L. McGookin of Long Beach, Calif, arrived and that evening they all traveled to Cedar City to visit with Mrs, Vera Gibson and Mrs. Olive Maxwell at the Maxwell home. On Tues. Mr. and Mrs. F. S. Smolenski of Odenton, Maryland arrived accompanied by their daughter Mrs. Stephanie Byington and little son of Rex-burg, Rex-burg, Idaho. On Wed. the entire group traveled to Duck Creek where they were met by Mr. and Mrs. Horace Maxwell, James Maxwell and daughter, Helen of Glendale and Mr. and Mrs. John Maxwell of Toquerville. After the family gathering there our travelers went on to Lake Powell and an overnight stay in Page, Ariz. On Sun. the Heber Lund family came from Cedar City to see the relatives. A trip to Milford is planned for later in the week. Word has been received that Mrs. Bonnie Abbott of Salt Lake City has been appointed Second Counselor in her Ward Primary presidency. Mr. and Mrl. Lynn Thornton had weekend visitors. Mrs. Thornton's brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Lee Brad-shaw Brad-shaw and son Wylie came from Las Vegas. Mrs. Ila Williamson traveled to Salt Lake City on Fri. with her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Adams of St. George. The trio attended the wedding reception of a friend, visited overnight with the Ken Sant family and then on Sat. visited with Mrs. Lareta Abbott and the Alfred Williamsons in Provo before returning home. Mrs. Connie . Robinson was rushed to the Valley View Medical Center Sun. afternoon after falling from a horse which she was riding. She suffered a bad scalp wound which required stitching and was kept in the hospital. Mrs. Diane Halterman was here from Provo for the weekend with her people, the Kay Lamoreaux family. Mr. and Mrs. John R. Lister, sons Ralph and Kay traveled to Washington on on June 9th to see Jack Lister installed as a Counselor in his Ward Bishopric. They were accompanied by Annabelle's mother, Mrs. Retta Parkinson of Beaver. Mr. Bill Edwards arrived home , on June 9 after a five day trip to Rockland, Idaho where he visited with the Milton Poulson family. Mr. and Mrs. Clark Lamoreaux and son, David traveled to Tooele to spend the weekend with the Jerry Mortensen family. Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Jones and five children of Salt Lake City were here for a weekend visit with the Blaine Jones family. The Misses Linda Jolley of Cedar City and Sharon Robinson of Parowan were here for a couple of days during the week to ' visit with their grandmother, Mrs. Idella Robinson. Mr. and Mrs. Don Barton of Monticello were in town on Sun. to visit with relatives, Mrs. J. Lowe Barton and Mr. and Mrs. D. Amasa Stones. On Fri. Mrs. Virginia Houchen of Las Vegas and two of her friends were in town to visit with the Don Bartons. She is a niece of Mrs. Barton. Mrs. Hannah Robinson and daughter Ada traveled to Panguitch and Littles Ranch on Thurs. with Mrs. Robinson's brother Ivor Clove of St. George, his daughter, Mrs. Rema Truman anbd Mr. Warren Sorensen. The group visited with a sister, Mrs. Mary Little and her son Kay-Mr. Kay-Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Kay Topham and sons Michael and Brett of San Bernardino, Calif, arrived here on Sat. for a week or so visit with the Kenneth Topham family and the Claude Jensens of Parowan. Kenneth Topham and son Lee Arlen made a round trip to Salt Lake City on Sat. Mr. and Mrs. Chester Robinson, Robin-son, John Russell Robinson, the Dale Robinson family and Bill Edwards were to Cedar City on Thurs. for family dinner at the Ralph Edwards home. They were accompanied by Mrs. Alice Robinson of Parowan. The affair was a two-fold celebration for Steven Edward's birthday and a going away party for David Robinson who is leaving soon for National Guard Training. Mr. and Mrs. Leland Banks and two little boys of Caliente, Nev. were Sun. visitors at the Chester Robinson home. Mr. and v Mrs. Gene Lamoreaux, Orion Lamoreaux vegas visited here at the Chester Robiason home on June 9. We are informed that a former Paragonah resident, Mrs. Catherine Michaeli, passed away June 10 at her home in Roosevelt. She was born Oct. 19, 1924 in Hayden, Ariz, to Andrew H. and Esther B. Clinger Crane. Married John R. Michaeli May 1, 1943 Uma, Ariz. The family lived in Paragonah for several years. Survivors include husband, sons John A., St. George, Gerald G. Ajo, Ariz., Eric R., Salt Lake City, six grandchildren, mother, Tempe, Ariz. Brother, sister, Andrew II. Panama and Mrs. Gerald B. (Eva) Raby, Scott-sdale, Scott-sdale, Ariz. |
