Show ....4: ,.rrf -',w - 1 ; f Jti 1 4i RHEA COLLINS Parowan matron succumbs; honored at rites Rhea Kathleen Eyre Pickett Collins, age 72 passed away June 10, 1974 after a lingering illness in a St. George Rest Home. Mrs. Collins was born in Minersville, to William Eyre and Nannie Osborne Eyre May 11, 1902. Later she moved to Calif., met and married Jess H. Pickett August 31, 1921. He died Sept. 20, 1928. Married Ted R. Collins May 25, 2951. Mrs. Collins worked in many places, but longest for The Johnson Bakery in Long Beach, Calif, and Sears Roebuck, both in their Long Beach and Beauna Park stores. The Collins moved to Parowan to make their home in 1962. She was a member of the IDS Church. She is survived by her husband, two sons Jess W. Pickett of Parowan, and Malcome Pickett of Corcoran, Calif. Seven i grandchildren and three step-grandchildren. step-grandchildren. One brother Melborne Eyre, six sisters, Mrs. George (Thelma) Dalton, Mrs. Delbert (Arvilla) Mortenson, Mrs. Frank (Garnetta) Mickleson, Mrs. Elmer (Velda) Buffington, Mrs. Elmer (Carline) Greene, Mrs. Earl (Remerice) Matheson, all of Parowan, Utah. Funeral Services were held June 13, 1974 at 2 p.m. in the Parowan Third Ward Chapel under the direction of the Spilsbury and Graff Mortuary. Family Prayer was offered by Grant Mortensen with Itha Mortensen playing the prelude and postlude music and Bishop Boyd Mitchell conducting. The invocation was offered by Thurman Eyre followed by a musical number in The Garden" by Jackie Robinson, Janet Jones and Merna Mitchell and accompanied ac-companied by Itha Mortensen. Speakers were Grant Mortensen Mor-tensen and Howard Joseph. A vocal solo "I Walked Today Where Jesus Walked" by Howard Knight and accompanied by Jackie Robinson. Musical number "God's Other Room" by Jackie Robinson, Janet Jones and Merna Mitchell. Benediction was offered by Earl Matheson and Mel Eyre dedicated the grave. Interment was in the Parowan City Cemetery. |
