Show Comedies -Musicals Courthouse Fare Pioneer Courthouse Players , ' perform in the historic Washington County Courthouse in St. George, Utah, a structure ; which is more than a century old. This building reflects the pioneer heritage of the SouthernUtah area and the r . desire of the early settlers for graceful and functional public , buildings. The old Courtroom on the second floor of the Courthouse provides a nostaligic and atmospheric setting for creating theatre. The plays in the 1976 Summer Repertory Season include a musical-melodrama, "No Sooner Won Than Wed," and two great comedies "The Importance of Being Earnest" by Oscar Wilde and the "Miser" by Moliere. All plays are presented in nineteenth centry costuming and production style in keeping with the atmosphere and period ofthe Courthouse in which they are performed. Two of the plays are written for nineteenth century settings, and the third, 'The Miser," has been adapted to the period. Ticket information for these professionally produced plays is available at the Old Washing County Courthouse, 87 E. St George Boulevard, or patrons may call for reservations between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. at (801) 673-3671 Also, the Box Office opens at 8:00 p.m. each performance night which includes in-cludes Wednesday through Saturday evenings, July 7 through August 21. General Admission is $2.00. Family and group rates are available. Children with adults are admitted ad-mitted for $1.00. |
