Show City Fathers consider Power Hike PAROWAN - Parowan City Council and the City Electric power borad are now in the process of discussing a possible rate hike. They feel this will be necessary to cover upcoming expenses due to increased costs of materials etc. A final decision has not been made on this. Police Chief Dan Harris has requested that the city adopt the Utah State Traffic code. The present city ordinances do not cover some traffic violations and the state code is more , complete. The council is taking1 this matter under advisement. The city received a letter from Gam Page requesting -that they run a sewer line from the freeway to his subdivision. The 1 city advised that funds are not , available for such a project and suggested that property owners i there band together to run their own line. 1 Willis Robinson was sworn in as the new building inspector for the city replacing Jay Moore who recently resigned. Jim Broadwell was also sworn in as the new police officer for Parowan. Kenny Orton requested some time ago that he be allowed to tear down the old power house in the canyon for the use of the brick. His request was granted as long as he complies with BLM regulations for clean-up plans. |
