Show Summit News By Donna Davenport Notice - All members of the Nielson and Mary J. Dalley family. The Round-up starts today, July 15 for three days of enjoyable activities and outstanding out-standing programs each evening. The 15th and 16th will be spent in Summit and Saturday July 17 in Cedar City. All residents and former Summit residents plan to spend August 7 here. A full day of activities ac-tivities j are planned iot r (hq Homecoming and the " big Bicentennial Bi-centennial celebration. Mrs. Herbert White celebrated her birthday recently with a family dinner. Mr. and Mrs. John Pensis of Cedar City joined the Dee White family here for the special event. Saturday visitors at the Herbert White home was Mrs. White's sister Esther and her husband Eldon Chase of Henderson, Hen-derson, Nev. Mrs. Dee White and daughters Annette and Carolyn were in Logan from Tuesday until Friday where the girls attended a workshop for High School Marching groups. Mrs. Keith Fenstermaker and Mrs. Lorraine Burns and two children of Salt Lake City arrived here Friday to visit with Sherlynn's family the Dee Whites. Mrs. Fenstermaker will fly to Montana next week to join her husband who is employed there for the summer. Mr. and Mrs. Rodger Morton and family spent the holiday weekend in Laramie, Wyoming with Mr. Morton's sister and family the Wm. (Bud) Wilsons and brought their daughter Christy home with them after a three weeks stay. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Whicker and family enjoyed visits from friends last week. They entertained en-tertained Mr. and Mrs. Jay May and five children on Sunday and Mr. and Mrs. Barney Cooley and five children were there for a visit on Wed. Both families reside in Overton, Nev. v , Mr. and Mrs. Hyrum Hum-pherys Hum-pherys left Friday for a weeks vacation. Going to Craig, Colo, first to visit friends Mr. and Mrs. Bob Nelson, then on to Star Valley, Wyoming to visit a brother and sister Mr. and Mrs. Dean Humpherys and Mr. and Mrs. Stewart Thurman and , family members. Mr. and Mrs. Darrel Harrison left Monday for nothern Utah to visit friends and relatives before returning to their home in Oakland, Calif. They spent two weeks here with Mrs. Harrisons brother and sister-in-law Bishop and Mrs. J. Frank Dalley. The Dalleys had a reunion of all available family members before the Harrisons left coming from Cedar City were Mr. and Mrs. Gardiner Dalley and four daughters, Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Dalley and four children and Mr. and Mrs. Mark Dalley. Joining them were two nephews Mr. and Mrs. Steven Dalley and Children and Mr. and Mrs. Mahlon Dalley. The town enjoyed a most fitting fit-ting and patriotic Independence Day celebration Monday beginning with a flag raising ceremony followed by a breakfast break-fast cooked and served by the Bishopric. The Primary children had a colorful parade then a fine program given by the Jr. Sunday School directed by Mrs. Carl Evans. Mrs. Kent Humpherys and Annette White. A patriotic skit was presented by Ivan Dalley, Kenneth Green and Mrs. Marc Allton. Dinner was prepared by the Venturers at noon. Sports and a water fight occupied the afternoon and a ballgame concluded the activities. |
