Show SUSC Food - Housing Costs Rise Food and housing costs at Southern Utah State College will be slightly higher next year. The SUSC Institutional Council has approved new rates calling for an average increase of 5.2 percent on four meal ticket plans offered of-fered by the College. Housing costs for a full year's occupancy will be 8.7 percent higher for residents of Juniper Hall (a non-cooking non-cooking dormitory facility) and 6.9 percent higher for residents of Manzanita Court (an apartment-style complex which includes kitchens). Rent at Oak Hall, primarily a facility for married students, will raise five dollars per month (6.7 percent). "The increases are necessary to meet inflationary in-flationary and salary cost increases," Paul It. South-wick, South-wick, SUSC vice president for financial affairs, said. New rates for food services ser-vices include: -A charge of $230 per quarter for a five-day-ten-meal plan (an increase of $13 per quarter). -A charge of $160 per quarter for a five-day-15-meal plan (an increase of $13 per quarter). -A charge of $245 per quarter for a seven-day-14-meal plan (an increase of $13 per quarter). -A charge of $275 per quarter for a seven-day-19 meal plan (an increase of $11 per quarter). Annual cost for a room at Juniper Hall will now be $375 (an increase of $30). Residents of Manzanita Court will pay $465 per year, also a $30 annual increase. |
