In days past he has owned a farm, owned and operated a radio repair shop, has been a high school principal, chairman chair-man of the SUSC Department of Industrial In-dustrial Education, a vocal music teacher and is a licensed electrical contractor. Born and raised in Delta, he attended at-tended BYU, the University of Utah and received his B.S. and M.S. from Utah State University. He received graduate doctoral degrees from the University of Northern Colorado. Hilton is an active member of the LDS Church, holding many positions, including bishop's counselor.
