Show 7' - 4" High Jump Kim Nielson continues breaking Records Kim Nielson of Cedar City, par licipaling with the Brigham Young University back and field team set a new HYP high jump record Saturday evening in an invitation meet held at the Mini Dome in Poeatello, sponsored by Idaho Stale. The premier high jumper clean! 7 feet. 4 inches to better his mark of 7-3 set the previous week in a meet held at BYU to open the indoor season. Nielson a sophomore, will be par licipaling in the high jump in the meet that will bring together some of the top amateur performers from throughout the nation. lbs coach, Clarence Robinson, in (heated that he submitted a request lor Neilson's invitation after his two outstanding performances in the first two indoor meets of the season for the BYU team. It is anticipated that portions of the New York meet will be televised as was a similar meet held this past week. Nielson, who holds the Utah High School high jump record is a sophomore at BYU and Coach Robinson believes that he could hit the 7 6 mark this season. lie is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Mike Nielson of Cedar City. |
