Show SUWomens Gymnastics team host Meet Southern Utah State College's women's gymnastics gym-nastics team will host a three-team meet Saturday in the college's Physical Education complex. The meet will start at 10 a.m. and will be free. The public is welcome to come and watch this sport which is relatively new to SUSC. Competing will be Western State College, College of Eastern Utah, and SUSC. "We are a small squad, and we are young and inexperienced," Kathryn Berg, SUSC coach, said. "But we are improving with each match, and we are looking forward to a stronger program in the future." Competing for SUSC will be G'Ne McEldowney, a junior from Michigan; Mary Damiani, freshman from Chicago; Joni Blackburn, Freshman from Loa; and Roxie Wright, sophomore from Hurricane. Debbie Sherwood, a junior from Chicago, will miss the meet because of an injury. Last week, the T-Birds competed in a six-team meet at Western State. Denver University (94 points) won that meet. Following in order were Adams State (85), Western State (82), Air Force Academy (76), Southern Colorado (72), and Southern Utah (42). |
