Show A PROCLAMATION WHEREAS, May is the month of remembrance for those who made the supreme sacrifice on the beaches of Normandy, in the Italian, French and German countrysides, country-sides, in the steaming jungles of the Pacific or in the frigid, wastes of Korea, and WHEREAS, our hearts are touched anew as we follow daily reports from the Vietnam Viet-nam area, and read the casualty cas-ualty reports concerning our courageous young Americans who are losing their lives in defense of our freedom, and WHEREAS, now is the time for solemn remembrance of those who still suffer from the ravages of war, and WHEREAS, every penny collected col-lected from the sale of these poppies go to support the Legion's Le-gion's Child Welfare and Rehabilitation Re-habilitation programs for disabled dis-abled veterans and the needy children of those Veterans. NOW THEREFORE, I, Mayor May-or Ralph S. Orton of Parowan City, do hereby proclaim Saturday, May 27, 1967 as POPPY DAY in Parowan City and urge everyone to purchase from a Poppy Volunteer the little Red Poppy made by the men who fought for our country's coun-try's freedom and who still suffer from wounds inflicted in battle.
