Show Swimming Pool Opening, Sewer Financing Studied by City Council i that the sudden warm weather weath-er has caused some of the oiled oil-ed streets in the city to bleed and that sanding of some of these streets had been necessary, neces-sary, and was being done as fast as possible. A large portion of the time at the meeting was taken up working on a budget of expenditures ex-penditures for the coming fiscal fis-cal year which starts on July 1 and runs to June 30, 1968. At the regular meeting of the Parowan City Council the opening date and operation of the municipal swimming pool was discussed and a decision was made to set an opening date for that facility for Friday, Fri-day, June 9, it is announced by Mayor Ralph S. Orton. Preparations for the opening of the pool are now under way under the direction of the recreation rec-reation committee of the council, coun-cil, headed by Earl Bunn. The water has been pumped from the pool and it will be thoroughly thor-oughly cleaned and the water heating facilities will be overhauled over-hauled to ready its use for the summer season. Mrs. Maxine Stolk will be manager and head lifeguard at the pool this summer and she will have as her assistants, assist-ants, Ralph Watson and Diana Orton. A schedule of swimming swim-ming instruction classes will also be prepared as a part of the program, we understand. Other matters of business coming before the council was the following, according to Mr. Orton: Francis Todd of the Salt Lake City office of the Farm-Home Farm-Home Administration, and Elmer El-mer Cox of the Cedar City office, of-fice, met with the council to discuss additional information which is needed by the FHA in processing the government loan and grant to finance the contemplated Parowan City sewer system and works. The government lending agency is furnishing much of the money either in loan or grant form, for the construction of the proposed sewer system. Messers Leo and Lennis Hall, owners and operations of Lee's Service and Garage inj Parowan, met with the council to discuss a gas and car franchise fran-chise at the city airport, that is now being used more ex-1 tensively.
