Show Le.BA7-10C0t.NER North East Furniture from tho WVclnosday Nifjht South-em South-em Association scratch league walked off with tin team championship in both tho scratch and handicap divisions divi-sions of the Iron County Howling Howl-ing Tournament held this last week at tho Cedar Bowling Lanes. North East rolled a 2855 scratch series, and this totaled to a big 3111 handicap to take all the honors. Team members are Don Adams, Roger Parry, Nolan Stokes, Joe Anderson and Boyd Adams. Hoger Parry led the boys as he rolled a 037 series, and Nolan Stokes and Joe Anderson weren't far behind be-hind as they came up with a 595, and 593. The team members mem-bers will all receive trophies as the scratch winner, and will share the first place money as the handicap champs. Runner-up honors went to the Circus Lounge team from the same league as they came up with a 3016 handicap series. ser-ies. Team members were Bob Hulick, Paul Wood, Cliff Reese, Byron Anderson, and Randy Dover and Hal Boyce won the double championship as they rolled a 1193 scratch series to control the trophies. However, all the first place money in this event went to the team of Ernie Humphrey and Ken Boren as they finished finish-ed with a 1309 handicap series. ser-ies. Second place handicap went to Dover and Boyce with a 1255 series, and Floyd Evans and Roger Parry teamed up to take third place honors with a 1250 handicap series. The singles championship this year was won by Floyd Evans as he rolled a 00 1 scratch series to take the trophy and title; however first place money was won by Dan i Webster as he came up with a 0(j7 handicap serie.;. Don Nielson finished in second place with a 002, Tom Brown in third with a 010, and Floyd Evans in fourth with a 030. The big All-Events title this year went to Virgo Smith as he finished with a 1793 total-Virge total-Virge will receive first place money and the trophy for hi:' efforts. There was a real battle here for second place honors with Floyd Evan-; taking tak-ing second by one pin. Floyd finished with a 17-10, and George Fetty was right behind with a 1745. Taking the handicap hand-icap all events chevron from ABC was Ken Boren who finished fin-ished with a 1888 handicap series for all three events. There was some real fine bowling this year with eleven 600 series rolled in the tournament. tourna-ment. George Fetty rolled three, a 627, 613, and 600. Floyd Evans picked up two 601's, and Mario Stones rolled a 606, Roger Parry 637, Hump Rosenberg 627, John Hickman 626, Virge Smith 610, and Hal Boyce a 606. The 200 game championship champion-ship went to George Fetty as he rolled 14 games over 200 during the tournament- Floyd Evans took runner-up honors with eight, and Virge Smith rolled seven 200 games. |
