Show County Seniors Visit atCSU Seniors from Cedar City and Parowan High Schools visited College of Southern Utah Wednesday, Wed-nesday, April 10. In keeping with the annual program offered of-fered to the Iron County high schools by the college, the students attended classes and participated in regular student stu-dent activities throughout the day. The yearly activity was initiated five years ago to provide pro-vide an insight into college life for students already familiar fam-iliar with the campus and facilities. fac-ilities. Each of the visiting students is given a class schedule and allowed to register reg-ister for any class of his choice. Special tours and interview in-terview sessions are arranged for those seeking additional Information. The high school day is gear, ed to assisting students in prooedures to be followed for enrollment at any institution of higher learning. Response from the students has indicated indicat-ed that the experience has been of value to them in help- ing them anticipate college j classroom situations and ob- j serve routines followed by college col-lege students. High school administrators and current officers assist each year in planning the day's , activities. Those on the per- manent committee include Clair Morris and Bruce Decker, principals of Cedar City and Parowan High Schools; Kent Bishop and Marvin Graff, senior sen-ior class advisors in the two ichools; Clayton D. Leavitt, ! Cedar City High School counselor; coun-selor; and Jim Robinson and Bessie Dover, representing the CSU Department of College Relations. |
