Show North Elementary Addition Gets Go Ahead at Iron County School Board Meeting Preliminary plans for an addition ad-dition to the Cedar North Elementary Ele-mentary School were approved at the meeting of the Iron County School Board Monday. Plans were presented by architect ar-chitect L. Robert Gardner of , Cedar City for an enclosed addition ad-dition between the present two wings of the building. The board authorized Gardner to prepare working plans for the project and May 13 was set as the date for the call for bids n the proposed construction. Bids will be opened on that date at 2 p. m. in the school board offices. Architect John Rowley also met with the board to bring them uptodate on construction of the new Parowan High School. His report indicated that progress was on schedule. Selections of some of the furn ishings was als approved by the board for the facility. Superintendent Joe Reidhead discussed the capital outlay program of the district with the board members, indicating that the district was progressing progress-ing according to appropriations appropria-tions already budgeted in the program. Superintendent Reidhead also al-so presented a preliminary schedule for the 1968-69 school year. Details of the schedule will be worked out and checked check-ed against other schedules before be-fore final approval is made, it was indicated. The board further approved the following: One year leave for study purposes for Gene Ralph Starr, Cedar Juruor High Instructor. Attending of a group of Cedar City High School faculty fa-culty members on April 23 and 24 at the Valley High School in Las Vegas, Nev. for study purposes. Attending the national conference for supervisors on May 4-8 by Max Dalley and Mrs. Claudia Forsyth. Attendance of food service ser-vice personnel at a national food service conference to be staged in Las Vegas during' the summer. j |
