Show 1 ' v 1 1 The Utah Civic ' Ballet Performs This Evening ( This evening, Thursday, marks the final concert of the Music Arts Series. At 8:15 p. m., the nationally famous Utah Civic Ballot Company will perform in the CSU Auditorium. Aud-itorium. Under the artistic direction of William F. Christensen, tne Salt Lake based company will perform four ballets, featuring a number of its star dancers and the corps de ballet. Mr. Christensen's version of Tchaikovsky's "Swan Lake," Act II, will feature Barbara Hamblin as Odette, the Swan Queen, Kenneth Mitchell as Prince Siegfried, and Rocky Spoelstra as the evil Von Rot-bart. Rot-bart. Virgil Thompson's comedy ballet, "Filling Station," also "THE FILLING STATION" . A Highlight of Civic Ballet ' Performance Here Tonight choreographed by Mr. Christensen, Chris-tensen, stars Tomm Rudd, Ben Lokey, and Carolyn Anderson. "Pas de Six," a virtuoso piece for three couples, choreographed choreo-graphed by Mr. Christensen to the overture of Otto Nico-Jai's Nico-Jai's "Merry Wives of Windsor," Wind-sor," features six of the company's com-pany's leading members. Based on a ballet divertissement divertisse-ment from a forgotten opera by C a m i 1 1 e Saint-Saens, irish Fantasy," choreographed by the world-famous dancer, Jacques d'Amboise, will star Janice James in the "tour de force" role of the girl. I Members of the Music Arts Association will be admitted upon presentation of their series tickets. Junior high, high school, and CSU students will be admitted free of charge upon presentation of activity cards. Non-subscrib- ers to the series can purchase I tickets for $2.75 apiece before j the performance. This final concert should prove to be the highlight ofK this season's Music Arts Series. |
