Show CEDAR CITY SOCIAL SWING By Virginia Webster Guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Van Esplin last week end were Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Wingett of Greenwich, Utah. The Esplins have also entertained enter-tained Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Allenby who are in Cedar City as guests of Mrs. Allenby's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Esplin. The Allenbys will vacation hero for several more days before returning to their home in Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. Antone Hunter welcomed Mrs. Hunter's sister, sis-ter, Mrs. Earl Satterthwaite, here Monday evening. Mrs. Satterthwaite of Laketown, Utah, accompanied other relatives rela-tives who were enroute to California Cal-ifornia from Garden City, Utah, as far as Cedar City. She plans to remain as a guest of the Hunters for a week. HEY CEDARS SQUARE DANCE CLUB The "Hearts and Flowers" theme will be predominant at the Saturday night Valentine's Ball sponsored by the Hey Cedars Square Dance Club. Co-chairmen Co-chairmen for the event are Lois and Louie Tong. They and their committee have planned a special feature for the dance this year--selection of a "Sweetheart Couple." In addition to a snack table for dancers, homemade candy and cookies will be on sale at the February 11 social. Miss Trudy Dobson, daughter daugh-ter of Mr. and Mrs. Evan Dob-son Dob-son of Cedar City, is presently in Honolulu, Hawaii, where she plans to spend eleven days participating in a beauty school which is being hosted and taught by Mary's College of Beauty, Provo. Miss Dob-son Dob-son and several other beauticians beau-ticians who graduated from the college met Monday in San Francisco, where they departed de-parted via plane for Honolulu. In between demonstrations at the hair styling review, the group will tour the islands. CHERE AMIES Mrs. Harl Judd hosted the Wednesday night meeting of the Chere Amies Club which was attended by sixteen members. mem-bers. During the evening, the ladies heard a recorded lecture "On Those Who Achieve" which was presented by Apostle Apos-tle Mathew Cowley at the 1952 BYU Awards Assembly. The recorded presentation was under the direction of lesson chairman, Mrs. Wm. Jones. Mr. and Mrs. Vem Kupfer and family were in Brigham City past week end visiting with Mr. Kupfer's mother, Mrs. Chris Kupfer. Enjoying a winter vacation in El Paso, Texas, are Cedar City residents, Mr. and Mrs. Orson Haight. Enroute to Texas, the couple stopped in Overton, Nevada, where they visited with relatives, Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Jones. |
