It is always observed ! on the first Friday of Lent and each year extends beyond still ! more national and religious lines in concern for the needs of all people for the message of the Christian gospel. 1 When millions of persons in 127 countries, including those in Iron County, unite in prayer on the same day, it is a remarkable re-markable event. This occasion, World Day of Prayer, will take , place on February 10, sponsor-I sponsor-I ed by United Church Women , who invite all of the community commun-ity to join in this observance. ! The local service will be at 9:45 a. m. at the Community Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Fred Bunnell is planning the service ser-vice in which several ladies will participate. No barriers of race, denomination, or culture cul-ture are recognized when women wo-men come together for this prayer day, which has a history his-tory of nearly 80 years. |
