Show Thunderbirds Travel to Coast It will be back on the road again for the College of Southern South-ern Utah Thunderbirds this week end as they travel to Fresno, Calif, to take on the Vikings of Pacific College. The Thunderbirds have posted pos-ted two wins over the Vikings this season and will meet them again in a two-game series Friday and Saturday evening. Games will be played at Fresno and are slated to begin be-gin at 8 p. m. both evenings, (9 p. m. Mountain Standard Time) and both will be broadcast broad-cast over radio station KSUB. The Thunderbirds defeated Pacific College in December on a neutral court at the Pasadena College Invitational Tournament for the consolation consola-tion championship. The game was a tight one that the T- j Birds won by two points in the final seconds of play. Two weeks ago the two clubs met on the CSU home court and after a close first half of play the ThunderbiAls broke away for an easy victory with John Carey turning in I one of his finest performances of the season. The Thunderbirds have shown a lot of improvement since the first of the year and are hoping to finish up their last five games on the winning win-ning side of the ledger. Some shifting of personnel has helped the T-Birds with Bob Cutf moving to the forward for-ward line. Cuff has worked more effectively in that position posi-tion and Bruce Bradley has moved into the guard spot. Bradley had one of his finest nights against Westminster last week hitting for 15 points and a fine floor game. John Carey remains the big threat for the Thunderbirds and will be relied on heavily in the T-Birds' final four outings. out-ings. Following this week's action ac-tion the T-Birds will finish up the season with a pair of home games, taking on New Mexico Highlands on Feb. 17 and winding up with nationally ranked Rebels of Nevada Southern University of Las Vegas, Nev. |
