Show CSU Loses 87-85 In Thriller At Westminster The Parsons of Westminster know they were in a game Friday Fri-day evening when they met the College of Southern Utah Thunderbirds on their home boards in Salt Lake City. The Parsons came out on top with a two point margin 87 to 85 with the Thunderbirds pushing all the way. The host Parsons led through most of the game ,but the T-Birds were never out of the action. In the first half Westminster led by only six points and that lead was snapped snap-ped just prior to intermission with Paul West and Bruce Bradley hitting from the guard line. The game was knotted at 42 all at halftime. Brent Smith of the Parsons paced his squad to an 11 point margin in the second half, but again CSU came charging back and almost took the game away from the Salt Lake City crew. I A 12 footer at the buzzer for CSU barely missed after John Hatton of the Parsons had broken a tie with a pair of foul shots with just eight seconds sec-onds remaining. For the T-Birds guard Paul West led the scoring with 21 points. He was followed by center John Carey with 20 and Bradley scored in the double figures with 15. Larry Moore added another 13 for the T-1 Birds plus some fine rebounding. rebound-ing. For Westminster Brent Smith was the top scorer of the evening eve-ning with 22 points.
