Winner of the tournament will advance to the All-Church tournament in the M-Men division. di-vision. Representing Cedar Stake is the Cedar First Ward, winners of the Stake league concluded this past week. The Cedar West Stake is represented by the Cedar Ninth Ward. Both teams from the Cedar Stakes picked up easy victories victor-ies in the opening round of play. The First Ward defeated an entry from St. George and the Cedar Ninth Ward defeated defeat-ed Parowan Second Ward of the Parowan Stake by a decisive deci-sive margin. Results of Wednesday night action were not available but the Cedar Ninth was slated to meet the tournament favorites, favor-ites, Washington of the St. George East Stake. Washington Washing-ton Ward is the defending champion and the zone's representative re-presentative to the All-Church in 1966. Cedar and Cedar "West Stake entries in the Zone 26 basketball basket-ball tournament of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, won opening round games in St. George Monday evening. Both teams were scheduled to participate Wednesday night in the second round of the championship bracket. The tournament is a 12-team affair af-fair and will continue through Saturday evening with games this evening, Thursday and |
