Show Gun and Rod Club Hears New Conservation Officer A very interesting and informative in-formative meeting was held by the Parowan Gun and Rod Club on Thursday, Feb. 2 in the club house. Special guest speaker for the evening was the new conservation officer for this area, Robert Ellswood. The members also enjoyed a film entitled "Patterns of the Wild". The club members also spent some time discussing a proposal of the National Park Service which would enlarge the boundaries of the Cedar Breaks National Monument. Following the discussion on the proposal the club went on record as opposing it for a number of reasons. The proposed extension of the monument would extend the boundaries to the northwest north-west of the present one, taking tak-ing in the south end of the Navajo, the Jensen hole and; the Summit Mountain where it drops off into Cedar Canyon, Can-yon, we understand. It was decided by the club to hold a membership rabbit hunt on Saturday, Feb. 11 and all those who were interested in participating in the hunt are to meet at the club house. Club President Allan Stones also stated that anyone interested inter-ested in joining the club is certainly welcome to do so, j with an invitation extended to those interested to attend the next regular meeting of the club to be held on Mar. 2. |
