Show Educational TV Close for County Schools Members of the Iron County School Board '."ere Informed at their regular meeting Monday that efforts to bring educational television to the Iron County area will be Improved with the report that Channel 7 in Salt Lake City will increase its power pow-er output Superintendent Ianthus Wright was authorized to follow through on planning and experimental work and to investigate purchase of sets to be used in the school district. In other action of the board an authorization for the sale of a one and one-half ton Ford truck with flat bed and two Chevrolet Carryalls, was given and a call for bids will be made. Principal Max S. Dalley of the Parowan High School and Bur-dett Bur-dett Johnson, chairman of the Classroom Teachers committee of the Utah Education Association, were granted permission to attend at-tend national and regional conferences. Dalley will attend the 1962 Conference of the National Association Asso-ciation of Secondary School Principals Prin-cipals at St Louis, Mo., Feb. 27-28 27-28 and Johnson will attend the Southwestern Regional Conference Confer-ence of the Department of Classroom Class-room Teachers of the National Education Association. This convention con-vention will be held in San Diego. Die-go. Calif.. March 28, 29 and 30. A matching fund authorization was also granted to the vocational vocation-al agriculture department at Parowan Par-owan High School in the amount of $150. The funds wtir match funds from the State Department of Education and the combined money will be used for purchasing purchas-ing supplies and equipment to be used by the Parowan school. Results of a testing program throughout the school district were presented to the board by Jay Casper. The report and charts indicated that results throughout the district were generally above the national expectancy. At the request of property owners own-ers located north of the new high school building site, the board authorized the installation of a drift fence on the north boundary boun-dary of the site during the period of ground preparation and construction con-struction to serve as a dust barrier. bar-rier.
