Show Music Arts Sponsors Apparance Of Concert Artists Three Utah concert artists will appear in Cedar City Thursday, Mar. 1 under the sponsorship of tho Cedar City Music Arts Association, Asso-ciation, It was announced today by Dr. Blaine Johnson, secretary. The concert will be an addition addi-tion to the 1961-62 series and will be staged at the College of Southern South-ern Utah auditorium. Curtain ' time will be 8:15 p. m. The concert is being presented through the Cooperative efforts of the Utah Concerts Council, of which the Cedar City association is affiliated. Dr. Johnson is the Cedar City representative to the council and also appears as one of the at tLsts sponsored by the group. Artists who will appear In the Cedar City concert will Include Blanche M. Christensen, soprano; Helen Budge Folland. pianist, and Marvin A. Sorenscn,- baritone, bari-tone, r The Utah Concerts Council began be-gan In 1951 growing out of a recognized need for closer elaboration, elab-oration, correlation and cooperation coopera-tion In the field of Imported musical mu-sical and other artistic talent in conjunction with tho overall educational edu-cational program of the arts in the state of Utah. Notwithstanding their major concern with Imported talent Council members have been generally gen-erally interested In encouragement encourage-ment and sponsorship of local talent. |
