Show Bryner Wood Named President Of Y-Z Trail Assn. Annual meeting and banquet of the Y-Z Trail Association was held in Cedar City Saturday, Feb. 3 with Bryner Wood of Beryl was named as president of the group for the 19C2 year. An ek-iiion was heid at a special spe-cial executive meeting Saturday afternoon and installation of Wood Into the presidency was completed at the general banquet ban-quet Saturday evening. Wood will succeed Philip Bust-eed Bust-eed of Caliente, Nev., as president presi-dent of the Trail Association. Included on the executive session ses-sion agenda were the promotion of a travel motion picture, membership mem-bership exploration, and the consideration con-sideration of an ''advertiser's insert" in-sert" In the Y-Z Trail Association brochure. At the banquet, held at Sulll- wan s r.i Key care, a motion picture pic-ture producer from Salt Lake City Ci-ty presented a travel film to the group to aid in its decision of the possible use of thls type of advertising for the association. The Y-Z Trail Association is made up of community memberships member-ships along the newly developed direct route from the populated area in central California, beginning be-ginning at Yosemite National Park, to Zlon National Park In southern Utah. Representative groups from along the route were in attendance attend-ance at the meeting In addition to a representative of the Chamber Cham-ber of Commerce at Page, Ariz. Promotion of the route is to be extended to that area, Wood indicated, in-dicated, , to take advantage of the tremendous drawing power of the Glen Canyon Dam and the recreational recre-ational facilities that will be built up after Powell Lake Is hacked up from the dam on the Colorado River. Although the organization has been in exislanee for approximately approxi-mately 15 years, the early part of the Assn. was diiected to promotion pro-motion of an oiling prnpect from tion of an oiling project from Caliente, connecting to Tonapah, Nev. Since the completion of that stretch of road the organization has concentrated on promotional activities Including production of a four-color brochure, placing of trail markers along the route and other advertising on the national parks and other historical and scenic attractions along the route. |
