Show CSU Grand Opera Set For Thursday Night Memories of "11 Trovatore" 30 years ago will be refreshed a bit for cast mombers who performed per-formed in College of Southern Utah's first major musical. Next Thursday seven people who took the leads' under Professor William Wil-liam H. Manning will have the opportunity of watching the "grand daddy" of grand opera at C S U again lead the opera he produced for the first time in 1926. These seven, with members of the first chorus, will be honored with special attention during the intermission. Praise and recognition recogni-tion will be extended to Prof. Manning during the exercises. Dr. Royden C. Braithwalte, director, di-rector, will recognize his service and the services of the original cast members. Expected to be in attendance will be Annette Betenson, Ann Gardner, Hazel Granger. L. F. Luke. Jack Wright, Lehi Jones and Will Macfarlane, and Ber-nella Ber-nella Jones, In addition to chorus members. Twenty-four major musicals mu-sicals have been produced since the first one, some of which i are -La Travlata," Rigoletto," "Car-men." "Car-men." "Faust," Tagllaccl," "Red Mill," and others. "II Trovatore" will be presented present-ed at Beaver's centennial celebration cele-bration for this year's Initial per-iomiinc- Mrrh 19. Cedar City schools and schools from southern Utah area have been invited to be represented on Wednesday, Mar. 21. Townspeo-pie Townspeo-pie and adults will be In attendance attend-ance Mar. 22. and on Saturday a special performance will be given giv-en for all who .were not able to see it on the other dates', and for the Southern Utah Teachers' Association As-sociation members who will be In a conference in Cedar City. Jenlel Reeves and Reynolds Johnson are working a gypsy dance into the production. Students Stu-dents doing the choreography are Ken Esplin, Jackie Winter-rose, Winter-rose, Claude Foreman, Laurena Jones'. Barbara Heap, John Davis, Da-vis, Sheima Huntington, LoRen Orton and Terry Bolander. |
