Paragonah teen agers narrowly escaped serious injury Saturday shortly after midnight when the car In which they were traveling went out of control and hit a concrete post. The three were Mike Lamoreaux, driver of the car; Ardell Talbot and Dale Bettridge. The automobile, a 1951 Mercury, owned by Mike's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clark Lamoreaux, Lam-oreaux, was declared a total wreck. All thre boys were Injured, but not seri niily. Mike broke one front tooth and will possibly lose all four top front teeth as his mouth was cut and bruised. Dale sustained bad cuts on two fingers of the right hand which : required stitches. Ardell suffer-' suffer-' ed cuts on the forehead which took stitches to close. All three . were bruised and shaken. The accident occurred at the race track grounds east of Pa rowan. ro-wan. The car failed to negotiate the turn out of the grounds and hit the north post at the entrance en-trance gate, knocking the huge block of concrete over and leaving leav-ing the car with the front end perched on top of it. I .... , Mrs. Delia Topham came home again on Monday after more! than a week in Cedar City following fol-lowing an accidental fall which broke her shoulder. A daughter, Mrs. Glenna Dodge, came to stay with her for a few days. Sixteen first and second grade children from the Paragonah school enjoyed an unusual trip on Thursday of last week when their teacher, Miss Helen Stones, took them for a train ride from Lund to Milford. Car transporta- tion to Lund and from Milford 1 back to Paragonah was provided I by Mrs. Zelma Robb and Myron ; Abbott. The youngsters and their i teacher, were accompanied on (the train trip by Mrs. Dorothy Barton, Mrs. Mary Abbott and student teacher, Miss Dorothy Simkins. The group left Paragonah at 11:30 a. m. and enjoyed a picnic lunch before boarding the train at Lund where they were met by C. W. Lowe, a master mechanic from Milford. Mr. Lowe showed the children all the Interesting things on the train, the dining room, kitchen, baggage compart-! ment and pullman car. After ar-' riving In Milford they group was shown through the roundhouse and each child was given a ride on a locomotive. Everyone con-' cerned expressed the opinion that it was a wonderful and edu cational trip. .... J Mrs. Pauline Topham arrived home late Thursday of last week after attending the General Primary Pri-mary Conference meetings In Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Jones raveled to Henderson, Nev. for the Easter week end. They were i oo m pan led by Miss Brenda J-nlley of Parowan. The Jones visited with their many relatives in Henderson and brought their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Rodney Bentley, and their three little boys home again after their visit at the Nevada Ne-vada city. Miss Joan George of Las Vegas who is a student at B Y U was a guest of Darrell Thornton and his grandmother, Mrs. Elva Mc-Bride, Mc-Bride, last week. The young lady la-dy came to attend ihe Junioj Prom and the following day Mr. Thornton took her back up north where they attended some sessions ses-sions of L D S Conference before he returned here on Sunday. Doyle Robinson returned home on Friday of last week after his stay In the Veterans Hospital In Salt Lake City. He made the trip home with his niece, Mrs. Ruby Bauer and her husband, Bud, of Cedar City. Mr. and Mrs. Kay Lamoreaux and their five children enjoyed a week end trip to Ash Springs, I Nev. to visit with Kay's sister, 'Mr Fay Stewart and her family. fam-ily. They drove there on Saturday Satur-day and returned home the following fol-lowing day. Mr. and Mrs. David Dalton were happy to have Alta's slste: and her husband. Dr. and Mrs. Roy Bishop and their son of Los Angeles visit with them for a few days last week. Dr. Bishop Is a professor at Loa Angeles University and they had been on a snrlnu vacation trip to Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. Alma Topham and family, Norma's parents. Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Davenport and Miss Earlene LaFevre traveled to TVvil 'er Dam for their Easter trip on Sunday. They were accompanied ac-companied by the Humbert Rosenberg Ro-senberg family of Cedar City.
