Show Elks Conduct Funeral For Charter Member Lodge No. 1556 of the Benevolent Benev-olent and Protective Order of Elks, Cedar City, conducted funeral fu-neral services Friday for Dr. Al-vert Al-vert C. Johnson, 79, charter member mem-ber of the lodge and first exalted ruler of the local organization. Dr. Johnson, an active civic worker for many years, died at his home on Wednesday, April 2, of a heart attack. The services ser-vices were conducted under the supervision of the lodge with Exalted Ex-alted Ruled Wayne Jackson In charge, and members participat-In participat-In the services. Dr. Johnson was born Jan. 21 1879, in Farmlngton, Wash. He married Leon a Scott Green in 1913 at Sandpoint, Idaho. In 1909, he was graduate! from San Francisco Veterinarian College. After his graduation, he .practised in Portland, Ore., and in Montana. Dr. Johnson began his pravtice in Cedar City in September of 1923. |
