Show CEDAR CITY SOCIAL SWING The ladies of the Wei-Ak-Avi, Club were entertained on Thurs-1 day afternoon by Mrs. Moroni Perry. Mrs. Ruth Hunter Introduced Intro-duced her husband, Sen. Charles R. Hunter who during the after-1 noon discussed the principles of legislative drafting for Utah; the drafting of Utah, the making and amending of laws, the constitution con-stitution of our State which is patterned after the constitution of our country and many other phases of our State government, were all found to be pertinent pert-inent subjects and ones that held great interests for all present. Following the most interesting I and Informative program, elections elec-tions were conducted. Tho:;e elected to lead the activities of I the club during the next year were Mrs. Morris Roberts, Mrs. W. L. Jones, and Mrs. Jim Urie as president, vice president and secretary, respectively. The members mem-bers have enjoyed an outstanding outstand-ing season under the leadership of out-going officers, Mrs. Wll-ford Wll-ford Webster, president; Mrs. La-nell La-nell Lunt, vice president, and Mrs. L. C. Miles, secretary. The afternoon drew to a cUc following the lovely reresii-ments reresii-ments served by the hostess, Mrs. Perry. A pot luck supper was the occasion oc-casion bringing the ladies of the Lohoaobey club together on Thursday evening at the home of Mrs. Forrest Anderson. Following Fol-lowing the dinner, which was found very enjoyable, the ladles visited during the evening. Mr. and Mrs. Melville D. Axns welcomed their daughter, Mrs. William L. Dunn and three chil-' chil-' dren, home the first of last week. After a busy week of visiting, Mrs. Dunn was joined by her husband for the week end and the return trip to their home in iiiveria, Calif. California beckoned Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Mathews. Leaving on Thursday, the couples traveled travel-ed to Canoga Park San Fernando Fern-ando Valley where they visited with Mr. and Mrs. Howard Mathews Mat-hews and family. The Donald .Mathews later continued on to Norwalk, Calif, where they were the houseguests of their son and wife, the .McNeil Mathews and young daughter. In spite of the rain, the week end was found most delightful. Mr. and Mra. J. M. Bird entertained enter-tained the Rock Club members at their home on Monday evening. Following a short business meeting meet-ing the members heard Mr. Bird report on the recent trip made to Phoenix. Ariz, by Mrs. Bird and himself where they were delegates to the Rocky Mountain Federation of Minerologica! Societies So-cieties convention. Coloder slides of rock displays which were a part of the convention were shown and the resume' of the convention activities was found very Interesting by the club members. Light refreshments were served by the hostess. Brlgham City was the destination destina-tion of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Petty and family as they left Cedar City on Thursday of last week. The children enjoyed their vdstt with grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Siggard, while their parents par-ents attended the sessions of the LDS Conference. Also in Brigham City for the week end were Mr. and M.-s. Vern Kupfer and family. They attended the farewell testimonial testimon-ial for Mrs. Kupfer's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jesse W. Owens, who will serve In the Southern States LDS mission. A visit with Mr. Kupfer s family was also enjoyed. enjoy-ed. In Cedar City last week visit-Inir visit-Inir with her son and family, the Edwin L. Freemans, was Mrs. rVrn Freeman ol Los Angeles. Sewing was on the agenda for Mrs. Willard Jones' Club as she entertained last Wednesday. Tiie ladies were happy to welcome as guest for the evening, Mrs. Gene Sorcns-m, the former Venn Manning, who was visiting from her home ii. Ferron, Utah. Following Fol-lowing an evening of visiting a:id sewiiig, light refreshments vere served by the hostess. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Merry-weather Merry-weather and Mr. and Mrs. Conway Con-way Tarry greeted Mr. and Mrs. Marion Snow and daughter of Gun'iis'M, Utah, as they came to visit in Cedar City over the week end. Mrs. John Rowberry entertained enter-tained her bridge club on Monday. Mon-day. Mrs. Evan Dobson joined the ladles as siecial guest for the evening. Prizes were won by Mrs. Dbsn-i, Mrs. Ralph Piatt and Mrs. Thomas Evans. Light refreshments were served by tho hostess.
