Show Paragonah Student Selected U. P. Contest Winner Duane Lamoreaux, a 4-11 Club member from Paragonah, has been selected as the Iron County winner In the Carl Raymond Gray Scholarship Contest sponsored spon-sored by the Union Pacific Railroad. Rail-road. The alternate selected was Heber Lund, also of Paragonah. This scholarship of $100 is awarded annually to a 4 II boy or girl In each county served by the Union Pacific Railroad. The scholarship can be used for a course In agriculture or home economics at the state agricultural agricul-tural college or Its branches in which the award is made. Members who are eligible to apply for the scholarship are those who have completed at least three years of outstanding 4 H club work and are a Junior Jun-ior or senior In high school. Duane Is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Lamoreaux. He has completed four years of 4 II Club work with one year as junior leader over a younger club, and has served as president of his club for the past three years. The winner was selected on the following basis: 50 on project pro-ject work story and records, 2." on scholastic standing, and 25 on character, Interest, qualities qual-ities of leadership, and community commu-nity and school activities. |
